The Avoriaz Cable-Car

It was inaugurated on the 17th March 1963, creating a direct link between Morzine and Avoriaz. Each cabin could accommodate 80 people and the lift could transport up to 1000 passengers an hour, making it the world’s fastest at the time (1966).
The new cable-car which was inaugurated towards the end of the 2012/13 winter season showcases the state of the art technologies now used in cable transport.
